Ford Maverick

About the Ford Maverick

Developed to meet the needs of an entirely new generation of truck buyer, the bold Ford Maverick is the perfect solution for your active lifestyle. As the very first compact hybrid pickup in the USA, the Maverick boats an EPA-estimated city fuel economy rating of up to 40 MPG**. If you're in search of greater capability, you can upgrade to the standard 250-horsepower 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder paired with an innovative 8-speed automatic transmission and an intelligent all-wheel drive system. Boost the already noteworthy towing capacity of the compact Maverick to an astounding 4,000 pounds when you choose the optional 4K tow package. Paying careful attention to the unique needs of DIY enthusiasts, the Maverick delivers an impressive collection of cargo-carrying solutions inside the innovative FLEXBED™ truck bed. Achieving a unique balance between useful ergonomics and relaxing comfort, the cabin of this truck is also filled with an array of advanced connectivity features to help you stay in touch no matter how far the journey takes you. Featuring a remarkably low starting price, the Ford Maverick provides an attractive alternative for adventurous drivers looking to make the most of their weekend plans.

What the Critics Say

"As a package, the Maverick reintroduces the compact pickup as a legitimate option for buyers who want the added capability of an open bed without the poor fuel economy, lethargic handling, and rich pricing of larger trucks. Nicely done." — MotorTrend

"In terms of resourcefulness, the Maverick is a star player. Consider its 54-inch long bed; smaller than any midsize truck (but longer and more useful than Santa Cruz's 48-inch bed), it incorporates standard tie-downs, available sliding cleats, LED bed lighting, dual bottle openers and a bed wall cubby with a removable floor to accommodate more oversized items like an onboard compressor." — Forbes

What's New for 2024

Although minor, there are a number of important updates to the compact Ford Maverick for the 2024 model year. Perhaps the biggest change is the adjustment of the two powertrain options. Previously optional, the 2.0L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine is now standard while the hybrid powertrain is now offered as an available option. In terms of exterior color choices, Azure Gray and Terrain are newly available this year while Area 51, Avalanche Gray, Alto Blue, and Cyber Orange have been eliminated. Other small tweaks have been made to the feature content within the available option packages for the 2024 Maverick as well.

Ford Maverick Features

Ford Maverick Towing

Practical Performance

Truly a new breed of pickup truck, the Ford Maverick provides a truly unmatched combination of capability and efficiency. Maximum efficiency comes in the form of an ingenious 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that cranks out a balanced 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) powering the front wheels. In addition to its impressive standard towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, the Maverick still offers an astounding 40 MPG city fuel economy rating and 500 miles of range using a single tank of gas**. Looking for even more muscle? Step up to the standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost® gas engine delivering 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Your Maverick can also be equipped with an available intelligent all-wheel drive system along with an optional 4K Tow Package that doubles the conventional towing capacity to 4,000 pounds.

Ford Maverick Interior

Premium Interior

Innovative, comfortable, and packed with premium materials -- the interior of the Ford Maverick is the perfect space to help you get out and take the path less traveled. You'll discover an impressive collection of standard tech features across the model lineup highlighted by an 8-inch center touch screen featuring Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto®, and FordPass™ Connect with embedded modem and Wi-Fi for up to 10 devices. Due in part to its standard crew cab layout, the Maverick offers spacious seating for up to 5 passengers in addition to useful storage compartments and bins for everyday items like a tall water bottle or your tablet device. Perfect for protecting your valuables and organizing your equipment, the rear seat folds up to reveal a massive under-seat storage compartment. Since everyone can use a helping hand behind the wheel from time to time, the available suite of Ford Co-Pilot360™ safety technology works to keep you one step ahead of potential danger.

Ford Maverick FLEXBED™ Technology

FLEXBED™ Versatility

Arguably the most ingenious utility feature of the Ford Maverick is its exclusive FLEXBED™ truck bed configuration. Unlike any other truck bed in its class, you'll have limitless options for customizing and securing cargo based on your own requirements thanks to innovative slots sized to fit 2x4s or 2x6s. Use your imagination to construct segmented storage areas, bike/kayak racks, elevated cargo floors, and just about anything else you can think of. Other handy cargo management features found inside the bed include integrated threaded holes in the sides, four D-rings, and two tie-down cleats. Rather than jeopardizing the factoring wiring harness for your electrical needs, the Maverick comes standard with an integrated 12-volt electrical power pre-wired to an easily removable cover on both sides of the truck bed. With the tailgate in the upright position, this 4.5-foot bed has a standard payload capacity of 1,500 pounds, equivalent to roughly 37 bags of 40-pound mulch. With the multi-position tailgate lowered, you'll have room for up to 18 sheets of 4x8-foot three-quarter-inch plywood without the need to angle the panels.
